Cousins in Crime

James went to Houston for a couple of days 2 weeks ago so Kelton, Kolt & I headed out to my parents house. They have the greatest house for kids. The kids can run around out side for hours and jump on the trampoline, hit golf balls with Big Daddy, feed the horse, etc. However, the inside of the house has lots of breakable & irreplaceable things. My folks have an entire nursery/room set up for the kids, complete with lots of toys, but they always seem to end up in the formal living room, where they are not allowed. Susannah, my niece, was over playing with Kelton one evening. Mama & I were back in her room & I thought the kids were occupied watching a movie. They weren't anywhere off limits so I figured they'd be okay for a bit. When I went to check on them a little later, this is what I found. Upon entering the kitchen, the first thing I noticed were grapes everywhere. Then I rounded the corner and saw that an entire bottle of soy sauce had been dumped everywhere. Then I saw the pantry & saw they had dumped out an entire bag of puppy food. Kelton had 4 miniature Reeses Peanut Butter Cups in his mouth & Susannah had soy sauce all over her. Needless to say, they sat in timeout for a long time. They don't look too remorseful, huh? There are some things that are just worth the punishment. My parents kept saying, "Amber, this is something you totally would have done. We were always cleaning up after you". I tried to have Susannah & Kelton help me clean everything up, but they were squishing grapes & slipping in soy sauce, so my parents & I cleaned it up. What a mess. Next time Kelton decides to make such a mess, I'm hoping James will be in town to help clean up.

Oh my gosh Amber, this story is so funny! I know it wasn't funny when it actually happened, but looking back you must have to laugh. I was laughing so hard when I read it. I'm so glad to hear you are all doing well. Little Kolt is getting so big! Tell James we said hello!
